This yearly event sponsored by local police, fire and rescue, has included I the past a K-9 demonstration, the STAMEDEVAC Helicopter, a Rollover machine, Fatal Vision Goggles, Kinsman’s Fire Safety trailer, Police and OSP vehicles, armored personnel Carrier, Youngstown Bomb Squad, Jamestown Pa. Fire Hover Craft, a bicycle rodeo, and last, but not least, the annual Water Battle.

The Bicycle Rodeo geared to encourage safety awareness while riding a bicycle is judged by the Gustavus Masonic Lodge members.  Riders are judged in three main categories:  Bicycle Safety, Bicycle Knowledge, and Bicycle Ability.  Children are divided into three main age groups to participate with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place plaques given out to the winners.

It has become a community event with the KVFD Auxiliary and local businesses providing plenty of great food to both satisfy hunger and keep everyone who comes satisfied throughout the day.

At the end of the day, kids who have participated in the required number of events, are eligible for the Free Drawing portion of the day.  Local business and citizens show great community spirit by donating over 30 bikes, remote control vehicles, scooters, and many other prizes from which children may choose.

Shop With a Cop

Collections and donations throughout the town as well as through generous residents in the community has made it possible for many local children to participate in a shopping spree at local cooperating businesses such as Cope Equipment, Ace Hardware, Kinsman IGA, and the Dollar General Store.  Children are escorted by local officers and complete the spree with a dinner provided by local eateries.
